Our aim is to comply with the legal requirement to adopt structurally balanced budgets from 2021 onwards. In addition, we want a sustainable fiscal policy to provide financial flexibility for future generations. In this context, we are aware that Bonn (like almost all local authorities in NRW) is already in the top category with its tax rates in a nationwide comparison. In the medium to long run, it is our goal to reduce the tax burden.
